Person in Charge (PIC) – Brampton Care, Oranmore
Brampton Care is seeking an experienced and driven Person in Charge (PIC) to lead our nursing home in Oranmore. This is a key leadership role with overall responsibility for regulatory compliance, governance, and the delivery of high-quality, person-centred care.
About the Role
As PIC, you will hold overall responsibility for compliance with HIQA standards and regulations, ensuring the service operates to the highest level of safety, quality, and dignity for residents. You will be supported by a strong and established management structure, including a Director of Nursing (DON), Assistant Directors of Nursing (ADONs), Clinical Nurse Managers (CNMs), and senior leadership team.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage the centre in line with HIQA standards and all relevant legislation
- Ensure high-quality, person-centred care is delivered at all times
- Oversee governance, risk management, and continuous quality improvement
- Support and develop nursing and care teams to achieve best practice
- Maintain excellent communication with residents, families, and stakeholders
- Ensure robust auditing systems and compliance monitoring are in place
- Work collaboratively with the DON, ADONs, CNMs, and senior management
Requirements
- Registered General Nurse with active registration
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in a management role in elderly care
- Strong knowledge of HIQA regulations and standards
- Proven leadership and team management skills
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving abilities
- Postgraduate qualification in healthcare management (desirable)
